Playing with the serger

Finally, played with the serger!!!

I felt the machine is complicated to work with, when I anyway read the manual.
And it was :( My mother has a serger also, but her machine can have only 2 thread. This serger needs 4 thread to serge, all thread go through different points on the machine.

I was so impressed when it worked properly, I was worrying what if it's broken because of my wrong thread setting.

Tested with my husband's old shirt :D
It beautifully serge!!

This is the first serged seams for me :)
PERFECT!!!, isn't it?

Oh, you are going to have fun with this, I can tell. Don't let it intimidate you! (This coming from someone who can't even wind the bobbin on a regular sewing machine.) How wonderful people thought of you and gave you these new toys.

Congratulations on the baby-to-come in your family!

Hi Catherine--Kyoko mentioned a few posts down that her sister-in-law is expecting. I'm betting that new niece or nephew will get lots of beautiful handmade gifts . . .

  4. Hi Liz!
Sorry for taking so long to respond you!
The new machines are performing very well for me! I am so surprised at the fact that the children clothes look so professional made when I used the serger!
Thank you very much for responding to Catherine also :)

  5. Hi Catherine!
    Thanks! :D
No, you are not missing anything. Thank you for visiting my blog continuously!
I am very looking forward to seeing a new baby of my brother. Now my sister in law stays with her mother, since she has awful morning sickness :( Hope I can have a niece so that I can have a lot of fun to make something for her, but most important thing is the baby will be born without any problem no matter a boy or a girl!
