Package from my friend, in Japan

I received a small package from my friend who lives in Japan. I was surprised at the package because it was unexpected one. It was sent by parcel, took 2 months to get here from Japan.

It was from one of my best friend, the package was heavy because it even has a bag of rice. The rice is a good Japanese brand, my friend used to serve me this rice when I visited her when I was in Japan. It reminded me of my friend house, and her food.
And many of Japanese snack, cracker, instant noodle, my favorite Japanese tea which was made by my favorite maker. I was very impressed, and weeped holding the bag of rice. I thought I want to go to see my friend.

She is 43 years old, going to have the first baby in this year. I can't stop to pray for her the baby will come out without any problem. I will make a quilt for her baby when she let me know if the baby is a boy or a girl.

My birthday

My husband's birthday and my birthday is the same date, January 7th. I was surprised at when I knew it.
This birthday, we went to bar to drink. I don't see many bar around my area, just 2 restaurant. We went to Spanish restaurant which we went for our first time, and we haven't been there since the first time.
It was not good as much as our first time, but it was ok. Both of us felt, they might cut alcohol that they shouldn't do, because we could not be toxicated. The food was... greasy as usual, (most of food is greasy in this country :-( ), but we enjoyed the mood and the weak alcohol drink, and paid more than $50. (>_<)

I made a small bag which can use as a pen case, or glass case, or cell phone case. It's possible to hang down from a big bag as shown in the picture. What do you think?

Happy New Year!

How was your New year's day?
My New year's day was so great. I went to a new year's party with my husband. Many Japanese who live around my area got together. The owner of the party loves Japan, loves to cook. She made interesting Mochi (rice cake) which was covered with cocoa. I would never have that idea, Mochi with cocoa. It was delicious! I also had Ozoni (special traditional soup for new year) which was cooked by her. It was also very delicious, as many people asked her second, even third.
I talked a lot, laughed a lot, of course ate a lot! To have a lot of foods to eat make me very happy. Ha-ha-ha.
I brought my flower arrangement for her as a gift (the picture). I wanted to discrie American holidays and Japanese new year in it. Do you think I could do?
